The lobby renovation at 27 Union Square enlivens the existing marble-walled and terrazzo-floored space from the 1970s by inserting glowing trapezoid-shaped light boxes over three planter niches. The light boxes, which are along one wall and fold up onto the ceiling, are made of a highly reflective translucent acrylic material.
